Oklahoma State Board of Education Approves Marzano School Leadership Evaluation Model

Palm Beach Gardens, FL (PRWEB)

On the recommendation of the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher and Leader Effectiveness (TLE), the Oklahoma State Board of Education has approved the Marzano School Leadership Evaluation Model for all Oklahoma districts implementing leadership evaluation during the 2012-2013 school year.

Dr. Robert Marzano worked closely with consultants at Learning Sciences Marzano Center to develop the model, which is designed to integrate and build upon the Marzano Teacher Evaluation Model for a coherent and aligned system.

As with the Teacher Evaluation Model, the focus is on creating a common language of instruction with a school-wide commitment to research-based strategies for improving student achievement. The Marzano strategies are based on 40 years of research into best practices and have been tested in multiple on-site studies conducted in real classrooms across the U.S.

About the Marzano Leadership Evaluation Model:

  • Built on a foundation of sound research
  • Integrated with the Marzano Teacher Evaluation Model
  • Centered on student achievement
  • Contains five domains with 24 strategies related to successful leadership with targeted professional development
  • Provides clear evidences to help school administrators evaluate school leaders fairly and reliably

Says CEO of Learning Sciences Marzano Center Michael Toth: “We’re very pleased that Oklahoma has approved Dr. Marzano’s Leadership Evaluation Model. This comprehensive, integrated approach to leadership evaluation is designed to build a collaborative community of teachers, leaders, and central office administrators with a focus on continuous improvement for all.”
